Eddie Catz Newbury Raises £800 for Macmillan

As part of Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning to raise funds for people living with cancer family owned Eddie Catz softplay held an all-day Macmillan Coffee on the 26th September 2014 already raising £800 for the appeal.
Half the money was raised through the event itself, raffle and bake sales and half was matched by corporate sponsor Vodafone.
Eddie Catz donated £1 for every child that visited on the day as well as putting on activities free of charge. Eddie Catz Staff and Customers tested their culinary skills to make the day's bake sale a success with all money going to Macmillan.
A number of local businesses generously pitched in to donate prizes totalling over £1,000. Prizes include two premier tickets to the races courtesy of The Racecourse Newbury, afternoon tea for two at the Donnington Valley Hotel, a birthday party from Eddie Catz, a goody bag from Toni&Guy, 'golden ticket' courtesy of Mr Moo Juice, 2 tickets to the film of the winner’s choice at Vue, Newbury and a pair of silver beaded tie backs courtesy of G K Curtains amongst others.
Popular pre-school class providers Monkey Music and Skills 4 All Sports came along to do free taster sessions to entertain the children and there was facepainting as well as the venues popular mascot Eddie making appearances and dancing with the children.
Following the success of this event, spearheaded by one of the centre's Manager Sophie Dancey, Eddie Catz has decided to make this an annual event.
