Eddie Catz opens a Wimbledon branch
21st Feb 2008Eddie Catz, the children’s playcentre in Putney, has taken over Tiger’s Eye in Colliers Wood, Wimbledon, one of the longest standing London playcentres. The Centre is 12,000sq ft split on two levels and has a playframe and toddler area, numerous party rooms, studios and a sports pitch.
Over the course of the next months Eddie Catz will be carrying out some refurbishment (but it won’t close) and by May 1st the Centre will be re-branded as Eddie Catz. Part of the upgrade will be the introduction of a curriculum of daytime classes for under 5’s.
The changes will also include the introduction of new healthy food menu items as well as new play equipment. The Centre has a great sports pitch which will be enhanced to become a mini indoor multi sport facility hosting a range of classes from mini football to basketball. Eddie Catz will shortly be launching Little Kickers football classes for under 5’s. Also to come are theme based activity camps (like Little Mermaid camp and Fairy School) which have been successful at Putney.
Eddie Catz was founded by London parents Maria and Darren Johnson who saw the need for an upmarket play facility four years ago when both their children were under 5. With the support of family and friends (and a really cool bank) they launched Eddie Catz in Putney in April 05 and it has gone from strength to strength. One of the distinguishing characteristics of the Putney centre is a tailored environment for under 5’s. With its extra space the Wimbledon site will allow Eddie Catz to create an environment which can also offer entertainment for children up to the age of 10.
The new site’s address is:
